What charset should I use when creating a new Db

What charset should I use when creating a new Db for english use. ?

I see there is a coallition option but no standard english option... or is that unicode ?

you don't have to specify char set or collation if you are using english. char set by default is latin_1 which would contain the english alphabet. if you wanted a different sorting order you would specify that in your collation choice.
