iTunes problem

I just updated to iTunes 7, and suddenly when I try to use iTunes to play music in any format (I've tried wav, mp3, aac (without DRM) and apple lossless and this happens for all of them) I have a loud background noise.

Anybody else have this experience, or know if anything can be done about it?

Well, saw http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93610 and while that helps, the noise (not the same kind of noise, now it's not constantly there all the time, just at time) seems to go away only if the iTunes thread is given high priority.

Seems like Apple really rushed this release of iTunes+Quicktime.

QuickTime menus don't work okay either, they don't render items unless you mouse over them. Go figure...

I haven't had any issues with the upgrade yet, though I feel like the interface gets worse with every release. What I wouldn't give for Foobar2k...

I actually like this interface better then the last. At least now I can see what's downloading when it downloads.
