I'm in the process of putting a site together (my first) and have been using frontpage express. I've ordered Dreamweaver and I'm awaiting delivery.
Could anyone have a look at the site and give me their opinion , please? It maybe looks a little amateurish, but I'm hoping to improve it with Dreamweaver, so any comments would really be appreciated.
The site is:-
http://www.onlineshoplist.co.uk/
Also, I'd like to open the site for anyone with an online 'shop' (in the UK) to be able to add their site automaticaly. Will Dreamweaver handle this or do I need another database/form programme - or is it not possible?
Thanks for any help you can give me. :)

I'm not sure there's a lot of wisdom in having red text on an orange background?
Kind regards,

I would advise you to use CSS templates for formatting your website, because putting format code in your HTML will soon be obsolete.
Two other points, I think sans-serif fonts are easier to read on a screen than serif fonts and the default font size is too small to read.

Thanks for all comments - much appreciated.
I've made some changes , hopefully for the better.
I'm really using this site to practice on and not expecting it to get good google placement. Hopefully I can use it to learn before putting up a more commercial site.
Thanks agan.

I didn't see the version before you made changes, but what you have up right now isn't too bad. It works as a link of links, anyway, which is good because that's what it is! However, if you want to focus on design, then I have a few tips:
1) Take out the first <html> tag at the very top. I think this will fix many of your errors (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.onlineshoplist.co.uk%2F)
2) The bright blue is a bit much behind all of the text. Why not go with more of an orange/brown color scheme to match your orange (logo?) graphic.
3) The text "Click on the heading in blue to begin online shopping" is too small.
4) What "heading in blue" are you refering to? I thought you meant the title "The Online Shop List" but it's not a link.
The site overall is very basic. While such a website doesn't necessarily needs many flashy graphics for the layout, it is majorly lacking excitement in the area of design. A heading graphic and maybe spiced up bullet points for your links would help a lot.
