dtc.bot.ru - how to remove 'bots' from WinXP Pro machine

Hi all,

I have a query about removing what seems to be a 'bot' on my machine.... when i disconnect from the WWW I get a pop-up message (not ZoneAlarm) asking for WWW-access and the site it is trying to access is:

dtc.bot.ru

Does anyone know what it is? What it is trying to do? and......how to get rid!!! :-(((

Have you tried using spybot and adware?

or a virus scanner that detects virus' and spyware?
