combo box not displayed correctly in Netscape 4.x

Hello,

The combo box (with size attribute set to 1) is displayed correctly in IE but not in Netscape 4.x. Instead of the presence of a combo box, all the values that are supposed to populate the combo box are listed in what looks like an uneditable text box. So instead of getting a combo box with an arrow to bring up a list country names, all the country names are listed horizontally within a bordered text area.

Any ideas on what is causing this?
Any ideas on how I can fix this problem?.

if you are using

<select>
<option></option>
</select>

and it will not work, then ns4 may not support that element.
im not sure tho as i only use the most current versions,and ive never used 4
i only have 7

Sounds like you didn't put the <form></form> tags in there.

Did you use CSS to style the border? I've seen the same thing in NN4 when I did. NN4 doesn't like borderstyles in <select> tags.

MCookie, you are correct! When I set the border-width to none in the CSS, the problem disappeared so I created two external style sheet, one for Netscape4 and another for IE.
