Cellflash?,task Bar description?,Link coloring?

Im new to scripting html/css and ive been trying to make a menu thats within a table using the <tr><td></td></tr> tags for dividing links heres the thing i wanted to make it so when you mouse over a cell it flashes,I believe this is dhtml, Also when you mouse over the link i wanted to have a description of that link within the task bar. Along with that id like to be able to be able to be able to change the coor of the link in all states active,on mouse over etc,along with changing the individual cell colors, I know this is alot to ask but itd really like to be able to do this ive seen it done on other sites but couldnt copy it. If anyone knows how to do this and is willing to take the time to help me out that would be awsome.:cool:

that sure is a lot, the onMouseOver can show stuff in the status bar, not the task bar, i think that is what you want (the status i mean). here is a little way to do it

i think that is how it goes.
the link changing colors can be done in css, dont't know how, something with the hover: property. i dont' have time to tell the others.
