Okay, yes I'm new but everyone seems reasonably intelligent here, so here goes. I have a friend who is 23 years old, still in college and broke so he lives at home. The problem is his father thinks he's 5 and runs Norton Internet Security suite at a teenage level, the man can't even hit party poker. Is there any way, app, coding, settings, otherwise to mask Norton and make his pops still think it's working when it isn't? He just got a new Lenovo and wanted to use Comcast with a wireless router but what's the use if you can't gamble and look at porn?

I think the best solution for this is for him to talk to his father. You _could_ mask norton if you really wanted to, but that seems like more work then it's worth.
I'd go on about asking how this is set up security wise, what computers are on the network, etc. But to be honest, the best solution for all of this is just a talking to the father.
Tell him to ask his dad what he was doing at 23. Or better yet, make a list of reasons why he shouldn't be at the teenage level. Talk about college reports and such that are blocked at that level. That may work.

Thank you. I really don't understand why he is so reserved anyway. That is a good reccomendation.

You can tell your friend that it's maybe time to move out and get a job. A great excuse would be moving from college to an university thats far away(of course to avoid big expenses for out-of-state tuition he will have to live for at least a year in the state of his choice). It's not too difficult to overcome problems, even if you'r broke. Hey, I've been woking for radioshack for some time, the pay is not great, but I made enough to move out, buy my own computer, and with a little help from my parents, pay tuition. Of course I'm left with no money to have fun, but it's worth it.

Yeah man, that's what I did before I got out of college. It is time for him to get out, but he won't suck it up.
