I would greatly appreciate a Pro's advice!

I have a script containing MB_EREGI function

While run correctly on some server "a" it fails to run the same way on server "b".
This causes me to believe that there is something that does have to be configured in the PHP settings in order for that function to REALLY handle MULTIBYTE charsets. As a matter of fact, this is the way that function fails - it handles regex check on [some english text] but returns
Warning: mb_eregi(): mbregex compile err: premature end of regular expression in /home/x/wow.php on line 268
when the checked string consists of multibyte characters (windows 1252) encoding for example (as in this case)

Do you have any idea how do I make this work on server "b" as well for I no more have access to server "a" neither to its configuration file?
Thank you!
Please PM anyone who is capable of answering that question to have a look here.
I require immediate assistance which is no later than August 27

According to the manual (http://www.php.net/MB_EREGI), you must be running PHP 4.2.0 or later to use this function. My guess is that your server "b" isn't doing that.
