View Full Version : Applying tables style, IE - Moz discrepancy

Hello all

I'm putting together a contact page on my new site, and for some reason I can't get IE(6) to do this correctly with an XHTML doctype (I've done it successfully before with HTML4)

View the page in Moz1+ or NS6+ to see how it should look.

Here (http://www.peterbailey.net/new/site.php?page=contact) is the contact page and click here (http://www.peterbailey.net/new/showsrc.php) to see the source code for the pertinent files. (the form styles are in typo.css)

Someone mentioned in another thread that if IE does not see DOCTYPE on the first line it goes into quirks... stoopid thing...

If it helps any, it looks different in IE5, I can't see what's wrong with it

One thing I noticed was the <label> tag, what's that do? I've never seen that before

More info on label here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/objects/label.asp) and here (http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/interact/forms.html#h-17.9), plus a cool utilization of labels here (http://www.youngpup.net/?request=/articles/labels.xml). Note: using the label element is also a key part of 508 accessibility.

Can you post a screenshot of how it looks in IE5? I don't have it to test on.
