IF in WHERE

i did something like this :

SELECT bla
FROM bla
WHERE bla AND
... more bla ... AND

IF(1<2, 'M_TAB.ID=3','M_TAB.ID=4')

ORDER BY otherbla


...but it seems that M_TAB.ID=whatever aint really working. I just whant to decide which other WHERE clause i take.
Can´t bee that difficult, right?
