So I installed this crappy program called Aston, its a supposidly more effiecent and better looking desktop shell for windows xp, in which neither were the case, the programs horrible. So I uninstalled it, and now im stuck without a desktop period. I login and it stays at the welcome screen until I hit control alt delete, then I get to a screen with a purple background in which I can only open windows. [From the task manager] and I have tried to run explorer.exe to get it to display the desktop, and it just opens up the file explorer. I tried reinstalling the program and putting it back to the explorer shell, I had no luck with that either. Can someone help me out? I cant use the computer like this.
It says my session is console... if that means anything.

I take no responsibility for what happens to your system. What I'm going to tell you to do will likely either do nothing or make your system work as intended. If the steps are done incorrectly it may make your system worse.
1. Get into the tast manager: CTRL + ALT + DEL
2. File > Run
3. Type regedit > Hit OK
4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
5. Once you click on Winlogon you should get a lot of options on the right side. Find Shell. This should be set to explorer.exe or Explorer.exe, if its not double click it and enter explorer.exe
6. Close regedit, restart your computer. If this doesn't work then the last thing to can do is system restore. I think aston creates a restore point before it installs itself.

Thanks for the reply, and it was indeed already set to explorer.exe -_-.
