So you are making a browser and have no idea how to do this type of thing? My recommendation is to stop making the browser because if you can't figure this part out imagine how weak the security for the browser will be. You are better off trying to embed an existing browser like Firefox into your application.

this is my work i have to do i cant stop doing. regarding detection of plugins when i have seen the documentation of "Gecko Plugin API Reference" in the site mozilla.org site, i have found that we have to search the plugin directory for the availabel netascape DLL's and register the mime types for the corresponiding plugins. But still i found the way the mozilla browser detects the plugin's is completely different. can u please help me in this case. and i have seen the coding is done in java and cant we do in C the same coding.
