Hi,
Is it possible to make graphic interactive? For examples, when you put a mouse on certain area of the graphic, it highlights that area. I want it to happens in both website and offline. I know that you can do it with javascript or flash in website, but what if I don't want to use javascript and flash? What about offline?
Many thanks.

you can do this on any element in-fact

<html>
<head>
<stlye>

div.test
{
background-image:url('images/one.jpg');
height:241;
width:241;
}

div.test:hover
{
background-image:url('images/two.jpg');
height:241;
width:241;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div class="test"></div>
</body>
</html>

Look at the link below for an example of this code working.

PS i only tested this on IE

When I said offline, I meant view the picture in my harddrive like a regular file.
Thanks.

Well. As far as viewing the pic directly on your hard drive and it being interavtive you can't do that. Unless it is an animated gif. What did you want the pic to do?

I want it to highlight certain area when mouse pointer points at it, but I want to do it without browser.

Is this what you're looking for?
(Well, it just pretends that this is one image but it isn't and therefore not possible without browser.)

Actually, I already know about the tricks that you mentioned. But these requires browser.

What did you mean of "pretends that this is one image"? Did you mean that I can do the same thing without browser if there are more than 1 image? How?
Thanks.

I know what you mean, and the only way you will achieve that is through flash, there is no graphic image format that supports an interactive image. You will only achieve it via CSS which requires a browser, or flash, which requires Flash.
