XMLHTTPRequest / XML parsing

Hi, ive been trying to use XMLHTTPRequest to load data. It works in Firefox and Opera, but not IE, IE gives me : line 38 - object required. Im obviously not the best at JS, im still learning. Any ideas?

Does this thread (http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=79228) sound familiar? Seems like a problem that IE has in handling xml...

I just cant get it working :(
even with detecting DOMParser etc it wont work.
any ideas?
