Will Google spider my iframe?

Hi all,

i am building a forum that will be part of a huge site. The forum will be shown in an iframe.

I know Google can index the html in the <noframe> tags, but I don't have any influence on that, because that is static code.

I have searched for this on Google, some say the content will be indexed and some say it won't. The owner of this site wants the forum to be spidered by Google. Will this happen?

I'm not an expert on SEO, but I reckon if the page holding the Iframe contains a link to the content of it, spiders shouldn't have problem finding it. If the Iframe content is only accessible (sic) by means of JavaScript, there's a chance spiders can't access it.
Generally, frames (even Iframes) are not necessarily the best way to ensure accessibility; they don't exclude it, either, if used consciously.

I worked for a friend a while ago on his model shop site, which was frames based; the former Flash-based menu resulted in the site not showing up in any search results; after reworking the menu to a CSS styled, text based one, although deep linking still is cumbersome at least the various pages turn up in search results which has improved traffic to the site greatly.
