I am good at photoshop, but never got a chance to do any thing in Image Ready. Suddenly one of the manager in my workplace, asked me to create some banner (you know the advertisement banner that come on top of pages, also on the sides) and he gave me some text and said the text should rotate or do some movement
My question is what do people normally use for a banner? Flash or image ready is enough? I have to finish this in one week. So please do let me know whether I can create banners with photoshop and rotate with image ready? Can some one provide me a website to learn some of this thing?

I dont know about websites, but you can make banners really easily with Flash. Try go and look at www.flashkit.com and see what they have. I think that they do have something on banners.

Before you get too involved with flash banners, clarify the term 'rotate.' As used with banners, it normally means to alternate, meaning to randomly (or even consecutively) show different banners when a page loads.
In other words, create four or five banners, and with the correct script, the chosen banner will load.
Search Google for 'banners' to give you a better idea.
468x60 is a popular size.

You can use a CGI-Script to rotate the banners, so that everytime the page loads, another banner appears. That is a pretty good way to use banners.

or Javascript or ASP or Php plus more.. Rotating or changing banners can be achieved really easily.
Flash is an easy but large alternative for an advertisement. If you are going to use flash make sure it is optimized and not to big in size.

I dont think the issue is to rotate more than one banner, rather have animation within one.
I usually create banners in photoshop, and export multiple frames for the banner. I use a program called Microsoft Gif Animator to create annimated gif files. You can certainly use Image Ready to help make animated gifs. You can use flash, but if you look around a majority or the banners you see are compact animated gif files...

If you got the money you could make really good ones with Bryce, and amazing ones with Maya - if you are bothered that is...
