I have page in which I'm trying to put form buttons on the same line. Through the use of a style sheet it works perfectly. However, when I viewed the page via a mac it looked very bad, and didn't work in any sense. Do style sheets not work in the Internet explorer version shipped with macs?

One of the examples to put forms on one line was made on a Mac... so yes, CSS does work on a Mac. Actually, Mac/IE5+'s CSS support is very good. Maybe it's something else?

I've found I need to use a different CSS file for Macs.

Here's what I do:

Use a link tag to load both the PC and Mac CSS files.
Use javascript to test to see whether the OS is Mac, and disable the PC sheet if true, the Mac sheet if false.

Note that you need to link both files as enabled because Mac IE treats a style sheet disabled in the link element as some sort of streaming sound file (which, of course, means the style sheet won't work).

Another option would be to tweak the styles of the individual elements with javascript after the page is loaded.

BTW, floating the buttons may solve the problem you describe.
