i just bought myself a new domain name for my business. when i send email from the mail server, it get's flagged as spam in most of my client's email accounts. i'm in the same boat spammers are: what can i do to prevent my messages being flagged as spam? can i buy a certificate?
i'm sending mail of similar content that i did previously from my AOL account. is there any hope for my shiny new domain name?

I wouldn't have thought that your domain alone would get you flagged unless it's somethimg spammish
the email itself might be getting flagged up, do some reading up on how emails are scored by anti spam
there's a spam assasin calculator type thing somewhere that will rate your emails I think

If you are talking about AOL, hotmail, and similar then they flag all system generated emails as spam automatically and I haven't come across any way around it. I regularly have people who have bought scripts from me have it automatically delivered to their AOL or hotmail junk folder.

I have successfully sent automated emails to hotmail and not been flagged as spam.
The emails I said are basically webpage-type newsletters and are sent as mulitpart/mixed. With an html part and an alternative plan text part. These seem to get through all spam filters

I've been using MailChimp lately, even if you don't use their service (there's a free trial) there's a serious load of FAQs, tips, good and bad practice, and so on, all written in a very breezey style
