Good afternoon my old friends at Coding Forums:)

dotfive (http://dotfive.com) (lowercase intended) is looking to align with another freelance developer on our team to support Andrew and me. This would be on a per project basis in the hopes that we build a mutual business relationship for the time being... as we continue to grow aggressively, the potential for in house San Francisco employment will be available - for now, as remote as you'd like.

Compensation for all jobs will be hourly billing of $50 or negotiable upon experience. Hours and payment would be agreed upon in writing prior to each project begins, and you are by no means required to accept the project - this is a co-operative, after all!

Skillset we're generally looking for is as follows:
- Expert understanding of semantic, tableless (unless tabular data is inteded) html/xhtml
- Expert understanding of CSS (and the techniques that come with it)
- Strong understanding of Javascript
- Strong understanding of PHP (5+ preferred, but 4+ is just as great)
- Strong understanding of MySQL
- Strong understanding of destroing/rebuilding open source software as needed

Would be nice if python or Ruby on Rails fit in there so you can continue to teach me a thing or too as I dabble in Django and recreate basecamp for fun and nerdery.

Server knowledge is always appreciated, but I manage, build, destroy Unix servers (specifically Mac OS X) and dabble in Linux builds as well as my daily design duties require, and we have consultants for server support as intended. Regardless, this is meant to be, again, an open relationship where we can teach and learn each other as we continue to build our careers.

--- more about dotfive ---
Simply started as an outlet for my own side design, it has developed into a full time business within less than 2 years from a few minor personal projects to over 30+ developments from print, branding, advertising campaigns, and website designs (should I ever get around to writing case studies about all of them). More and more we've found ourselves swamped with work, and as I continue to wear ownership, sales representative, account management, customer service, creative direction, graphic design, and coder hats, finding driven and dependable self starting talent is becoming a strong necessity.

From a financial standpoint, we've had an over 400%+ revenue growth for the second year, with low overhead and little debt save revolving accounts. We are looking to further grow dotfive into an incorporated business within the next 2 years or sooner.

You would be supported by an award winning Content Writer, training to work with clientele as needed via Basecamp or the occassional phone/chat. An expert, although extremely busy, web developer who dabbles in design as time allows him. Professional Accounting and Legal services, and an Award winning Creative Director who's already dragged out this post too much.

Please feel free to ask questions on here, or send me emails at brady at dotfive.com -- aim chat at bradyjfrey -- jabber chat at brady at dotfive.com, especially if I've excluded important information in this post:) Thank you!

Hi,

I would like to work with you. I can show you my work protfolio. Please contact us on yahoo messenger. My yahoo id is softorigin.

Thanking you,

Thank you for your submission, but we are no longer actively looking - regardless we specified "- Expert understanding of semantic, tableless (unless tabular data is inteded) html/xhtml - Expert understanding of CSS (and the techniques that come with it)" of which http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.softorigin.biz%2F does not qualify. Codingforums offers some excellent tutorials and documentation on the subject: http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=20862 - and I would recommend Jeffrey Zeldman or Dan Cederholm books, as well as tutorials on htmldog.com if you'd like to learn more about the subject. Thank you!
