Our web host (in Kentucky) insists that our site is up, but no one in my area (Wash. state) can access it. Please let me know if you can access it and what locale you are in. We've been down for 13+ hours, it's very frustrating.

Cant get to it from here (UK). If your web host says the site is up, they may mean that the server machine is up (not the same thing)
It could also be a DNS or network issue that they're unaware of, meaning they can see the site internally but externally its not available.

Thank you all for your quick replies. So it definitely seems like WA state can't see the site...is it some kind of router issue or DNS issue? This hosting company is just no help whatsoever, is there anything that can be done?

Tell your web host what you've found out, in terms of who can see your site and who can't. If your web host can't or won't look into this further, I would find another web host if I were you.

Did you finally knock some sense into your web host and get them to fix this for you? Your site wasn't working for me earlier, but now it is. Good show!

Works for me in North Carolina.

It could also be a problem with the ISP. For a few weeks I was not able to get to codingforums.com here at home using Earthlink but could get to it fine at work using RoadRunner. After a few weeks the problem went away. It was probably just a bad DNS entry at the ISPs end. In the mean time what I did was just create an entry in my local hosts file to resolve the IP address for this site to codingforums.com.

i would switch web-hosts if i were you. You seem to have been messed around by your hosting company. Probably due to inexperience on their part.
One that is deffinitely to be recommended is www.webkoreserver.co.uk Very fast loading times, and down-time is rare. I have no affiliation with this website whatsoever (other than the fact that my company hosts with them), so this is not advertising. Technical support is also meant to be excellent, yet i have never needed to use it; which deffinitely tells me that this host is one of the tops.

If you changed hosts or switched the domain to a different company it would have done that, but i see it fine right now.

You updated something with the dns on july 8th so that is most likely the cause of what was going on.
