Flexable command prompt + edito = FAR

I remembered that I noticed that a lot of you use dos for compiling and such... there is a dos based program I have it is freeware, even though made by russian programmers, and some things are written in russion(the info file)

it works better than dos and easier... even though it might be a bit hard not to use the mouse bit still

common controls

f4 = edit(good editor btw ;))
f3 = view(not edit(read))
f7 = make folder
shift+f4 = create and edit(useful)
ctrl+o = open dos-like screen(useful for compilation notes or debugging)

I know the graphics are bad but it is really useful

at the bottom there is a dos like linestrip with black background,
anything you write will be written there, and when you click enter after writing it will work as dos

DOS = MS-DOS = Microsoft Disk Operating System
console/terminal/"command prompt" = command line utility inside an OS

Many of us prefer using a terminal/console in Windows. Also many of us are on a Linux distro, so the term "DOS" doesn't really apply.

Now that we know you mean "lose the command prompt in Windows", we can continue.

Doesn't Visual C++ require you to compile via command line (with MS' crazy batch file to initialize the environment variables so you can compile properly)? I'm intrigued as to why you would prefer a command line replacement instead of the one you were given. MS' command prompt (or the bash terminal where applicable) suits me (and many other programmers) just fine.

a lot of programmers use far, it is like dos but much easier to use and stuff

I am not making anything, I am just saying it exists since I noticed no one uses it on the forum...
