I am trying to make my intranet look more professional i have lots of tables show great big list of data. Wen looking at this i am finding it not very pleasing. I am not a designer more a developer who want things to get to look better than they do. Does any one know of any good places where i can look at sum examples of this. I am open to any kind of suggestions.

I realize it's going to be hard for you to give us a look, this being an intranet, but it would help if you could provide a screen shot or something.
What exactly is it that you don't find pleasing? Is it the length of the tables, or the layout of them? Is there too much data in sight at once?
If it's the length you're concerned about, consider a division in pages so no page shows more than a certain amount of rows; also, provide a previous/next type navigation (or a number list) for users to page through the data.

again... without a visual, its hard to suggest things.... but...
big nasty tables of data might use some of this?

zebra tables could make things more appealing/functional, along with other css fancyness...
