View Full Version : can i build a javascript based updater?

i've been doing numerous google searches and not getting anything as i'm not sure exactly what to search for here.. dynamic javacript form based text updater .. or ?

anyway, what i want to build is a page with a text box for (like the one i'm typing in right now) and a submit button, that will put that text on another webpage.. like a stripped down livejournal. so that when i build a website for someone else, they can just go to update.html or whatever, and type a new text entry without having to know html or deal with ftp clients...

please let me know where i should be looking, can javascript alone do this or do i need to be using something else?

You need a server-side application (php, asp....). Javascript is a client side and can not, alone, write/store data in s DB. You must submit the information.
