COMPLETELY New to PHP just need a few pointers

Ok, This sounds really dumb, but I don't know what to download on the php.net site, I haven't even got that far! :eek:

Also, if anyone knows of a site that can explain what to do to make a guestbook to a complete beginner, step by step I would be greatful.

Are you just wanting something so you can test your php scripts locally? If so here are a few install packages you can try. I currently use XAMPP.
