First of all, CSS doesn't do things like direct users where to go. CSS is used for formatting the design of a page.

Second of all, you're probably looking at a website built by professionals-- you'll get there someday, but maybe you should bite off a smaller chunk? Start with a smaller project to get your feet wet and work your way into the big stuff.

PHP can help you do a lot of cool stuff, in combination with CSS, HTML, and Javascript. Try googling for some tutorials on those items. www.php.net is a good place to start.

sorry for the Thread title I wrote it and after I posted I didn't know how to edit/change the subject thread and I didn't want to make a new thread with the same info aka question. i appologize for that as for the web page content's i'm a quick learner by looking at html's etc. and playing around with them. i know that some people use Macromedia Software Dremwever4 WebDesigner and sometimes uses templates to design there websites i was just wondering if it's possible to having a web site that uses templates with just scripts that add gifs and etc. to the template form so you don't have to create each individual webpage. but thanks I'll take the advise my main thing is to learn javascript then i'll get into swf hehe fun huh? ok thanks. :)

You are talking about separating content from presentation, which is very important, and something that web designers talk about a lot. On one level, you can do it with CSS as much as you can, but if you progress to PHP you'll find that it, being a server-side language, gives you another 'level' behind the HTML and CSS, and is essentially a templating language (on a basic level ;) ) so you can make templates with it quite easily, with PHP plugging the basic data into 'HTML with holes in'. But like the others have said, you are jumping up the ladder when it would be better to take it one step at a time.
Hope this helps.
