Is there an alternative of scandir() for PHP4?

I don't exactly know what to right here for everything I have to say is in the title of my thread. ;)
EDIT: Why isn't there a delete function for threads! :(
Once again I figured it out from http://ca3.php.net/manual/en/function.scandir.php
but how could I display it in a list, because when I use the code the output would come in one line such as:
Array ( [0] => . [1] => .. [2] => file.vna [3] => file.php [4] => inphecthyuz.css [5] => file.php [6] => makeMD5.exe [7] => file.php [8] => text.txt )

Well, you have the array built up now. Iterate through it and display it how you wish :)
