Break up Whois Data

I have found several whois scripts which allow proper fetching of WHOIS details of most extensions of the world.

What I want is specific information.. say registration date of domain, expiry date of the domain etc.

Is it possible to decode the information in parts from the WHOIS response?

Hmm.. Thnx/... But. the thing is that all registrars have different WHOIS formats... So, want to know how one can achieve this...
