favicon.icn tag help

hi
im tring to hav a icon next to my url and in bookmarks but it dose not work i hav this code <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> but its dose not work
i think it becuase the website is forwarded.(i think this becuase i went straight on the non forwarded website and it worked
so what can i do about it how do i get it to show up on the forwarded domain???

Also there is some IE bug that usually wont show them...

thanks but it still dosn't work. you see i hav a domain A that is forrowarded to domain B Domain A dose not show the favicon but Domain B dose how do i get domain A to hav the favicon?
