Need to execute a DOS command from javascript.
I have searched the archive and only came up with a few vague hits. I also realize this is a sensitive subject as this type of request is considered hacking.
So let me say the purpose is to build a network timer of sorts. I would like to be able to ping / traceroute at timed intervals to measure network 'bogging'. Then, display these results on a web page. This is on an intranet and I do have PHP and Perl installed but I only know Javascript and some Visual Basic scripting. (Hyper Text Applications)
I have no problems reading a text file. The problem is executing the command from the page.
If you know of any links or code, I would be grateful. Private emails are welcome!
