request.querystring for javascript?

I'm just wondering if there a function for javascript to request form or querystring data?

JavaScript can access the query string with location.search (http://www.devguru.com/Technologies/ecmaScript/quickref/location_search.html).

(Client-side) JavaScript can't access post data.
