Ive just gone through a huge overhaul of my site design as it was not very distinct or original before and it did not look like everything matched or was in place....
would be greatful to have any feedback about new website design..... feel free to sign up if you want and letme know if it all works fine.... (it should do)
any constructive criticism is welcome and improvement ideas....
the content of front page is a bit of a mess at mo, not quite sure what to do with front page, dont no whether to just point out what site does...because i dont want it to be the same all the time.... want it to vary as i want ppl to come bak.. if the front page is the same it wont b so appeal.... so any ideas on how to liven up or what to do with front page welcome....
thank you

I would like to see this site centre aligned, the postiton is very distracting on my laptop screen (high res).
I dont think the sites look represents its content. I do actually like the look of the site but think it needs some refinement. The main nav bar bottom border doesnt need to be there. I would stick you main graphic a little higher up in the header and theres no excuse for nt using valid XHTML!
Overall nice site just needs some refinement:thumbsup:

thanks for the replies....
1. im not sure wat you meant by bottom border i have adjusted it.... not sure if thats wat u meant.... (still think how i had it looked better)
or did u mean no border at all just words along bottom??
2. also my site is contained within the div:-
#contents{
top:0px;
height:600px;
align:center;
position:absolute;
}
but the align center is not aligning it centrally.... how do i adjust the code so it works...
3.when i am on the home page and when i click on the "home' link on the navigation, it just refreshes the same page.
the general rule of webdesign as i have read somewhere is "we should not place a link that takes the visitors to the same page".
better to leave the 'home' in the navigation in the main page without a link.
i have the navigation bar in a seperate .html.... and then just use <? include("navbar.html"); ?> for each site page.... so id need to redo every page to make it how you said ... pspdownloads.
4. i am going deal with the xhtml coding once i have finalised the site design... thanks for reminding me tho....

hey kaiiak! here are my comments:
5 seconds on your home page, and i dont know what its about.
you should make it obvious within the first lines of text what the site does. its better to have someone leave after 10 seconds because they are not interested in what you have to offer, than have someone leave after 10 seconds because they might be interested if only they knew what you were offering.
you can have variation with the rest of the page, when viewers know what the site is all about and if they're interested, they'll read the rest of the page and click on other parts.
(personally, if i cant tell what a site is for within 5 seconds, it pisses me off and i just leave)
i clicked on what is a fonki, too many blocks of small text, didnt read.
when i resize the text in my browser, it overflows out of the white box and into the blue background where it is harder to read
make the default text larger and dont give the div containing your text a fixed height so it will resize with the content.
your favicon.ico doesnt show
you have the link in your page for it. i dont know if you're not done with it yet but if you are, its not showing. if you're not, good thing you put the link there already so you dont have to add it later.
too much white at the bottom on the home page
its not necessary and makes the site feel empty and unfinished.
cant really see the "register now" link.
need to make it more prominent. but without the purpose of the site stated, its like: register for what?
i still dont get what the site if for by the way.... its like you have all this information about it, but im still asking myself, what is it??
hope that helps! good luck!

Constructive criticisms.
Top bar does not pull site together. It should be redone with darker colours IMO.
Your :hover elements for your top bar should also have 1px less padding -left & 1px less padding-right than otherwise, to counter the 2px of border on either side.
"ADD" (top right) is meaningless.
Large, black fonts with good spacing required.
Needs a gimmick. Something fun!
Clicking "Fontki" on logo should do somethingGood Elements.
Nicely aligned.
HTML is clean.
Consistent colour scheme.
