blocking the internet via router for 1 computer

we have 7 computers here at the office and we're using a netgear router - and just so you don't think I'm being lazy - I've also posted a message on the netgear forums but considering the shabby help I've received there in the past...

while I've already added certain keywords for websites that we don't want to have access to I also need to block 1 specific computer from accessing the internet period but the computer still needs access to the office server and email from our domain which is hosted outside the office

can anyone point me in the right direction? I've also already blocked http and ftp service for that local ip but it seems that it can still access the internet - I know it's something relatively simple but since I'm so unfamiliar with it...

any and all help is greatly appreciated! :)

You could set up a rule on your firewall to block any requests from the computers ip address...

You could also setup a proxy within ie and have ie use the proxy for everything except internal routes...

at the router I've blocked specific keywords which are going to greatly reduce the number of sites that the individual has been using - however since the computer needs to be completely blocked from the internet and that computer's ip address changes when logging on - how do I block the ip address?

in using a proxy don't all computers that are allowed access have to have a specific ip and port to connect to? and wouldn't that be a better way to do it? I just don't know how to do it

see what happens when you have employees that abuse the system? *chuckles*

after weeks and weeks of looking and asking I finally found where to assign individual ip addresses

works like a charm now - all but one computer has access to the internet but this still all have access to the server!!
