View Full Version : Transparnet GIF with Dropshadow

When I try to save my GIF as a transparent image, photoshop gives some white background behind the Dropshadow. how can I get rid of this. The images should be transparent whil I'm using Dropshadow on the image as well. Please Help !

When you choose to "save as web" and then choose gif from the drop down menu, there is an option under that called "matte". Drop down the menu and choose "none" . I think by default it's set to white.

Still not working. The shadow turns to pure black stroke like shadow after changing matt to NONE. Please tell me more...

Oh I must had not been thinking right.

your making a gif image with a dropshadow...duh...silly me.

gif's can't do it. You need to save as a png for that.

Gif's have 2 layers of transparency. All or nothing. Problem with pngs is IE doesn't like them. You can use the filter property to make it play along though. The easier way would be to use the javascript on this post.
