View Full Version : Submiting a from residing on a different frame

What I知 trying to do is submit a form that resides in a different frame than the one I知 executing the command from. I have frames called left, and main. In my left frame I have a page from a different website (that I have no control over) with a form on it. From my main page I知 trying to write code that will submit the form that痴 in the left frame after a certain time expires. I知 not sure if I知 not targeting the frame right or what?

The forms in the left frame looks like this:
<form action="http://bulletin.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bulletin.update&Mytoken=EA13A575-144C-11F7-26E35577D78FD35821079801" method="post" onSubmit="return singleClick();" name="bulletinForm">
<input type="hidden" name="groupID" value="0">
<input type="hidden" name="hashcode" value="MHsGCisGAQQBgjdYA/+gbTBrBgorBgEEAYI3WAMBoF0wWwIDAgABAgJmAwICAMAECLWw7daKGmXJBBDKi+f/N8Hpa62yEvzQgKNeBDC3m6GOQKqTSjAKnYFmu3BNu8TeIqpBvzrrXaygR3OK6O8grY3ikUIjaVrdlCXPIh4=">
<input type="hidden" name="hash" value="6308J150O169O160O160O153O168O157O162">
<input type="hidden" name="subject" value="blah">
<input type="hidden" name="body" value="This%20is%20my%20text">

<input type="button" value="Post Bulletin" onclick="bulletinForm.action='http://bulletin.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bulletin.update&Mytoken;bulletinForm.submit();">

I知 not even sure why there are two forms they both use the same action? But one is totally hidden and one is an actual submit button so all I really want to do is trigger the submit button from my main frame?

I tried using this:

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"><!--
setTimeout('left.bulletinForm.submit()' ,15000);

To automatically submit the form but I get an error stating that: 鼠eft is undefined, so I must not be targeting correctly

Any suggestions?
I壇 appreciate any help anyone could offer thanks!

my question is why are you trying to submit a bulletin on myspace from a different website?

Yeah, i figured that would come up... it's just something i'm trying to figure out... it started as kind of a challenge to myself, because of all the anoying websites that try and trick people into reposting bullitens... but they always required the user to click on a submit button. I always wondered why they didn't just make it automatic... so i tried to build it myself to see if it was even possible (which i'm starting to think it's not)... and now it's just annoying the crap out of me because i can't figure it out.

so the reason i guess is just to kill my curiosity...:rolleyes:
