View Full Version : loading variables via URL?

I was to set a up a number of feeds for a number of people.
For example Affiliate 1 could have a feed, in their site colours, for the foodball fixtures and horse racing meets.
Affiliate 2 could have the same.

I was wondering if there was a way i could load a variable into the xml page like this. international-football.xml?site=mysite.

Then in the xml page is will load the xsl file from the "mysite" folder
In the xsl page it will load the css file from the "mysite" folder.

Does anyone know if this is possible.

i have this

<xsl:variable name="approvedParams" select="substring-after($queryString, 'site=')"/>

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{$approvedParams}/style.css" />

which will get the sitename from the information after the site= but i can't read the url

Everything after the ? is known as the "query string", and can only be included by either a server-side processing script such as PHP or Perl, or by a client-side script such as JavaScript.

What's your preference? I'll move this thread to the appropriate forum. :)

Howdy. Would be able to move this to the javascript forum.

Thank you
