Screen Shadows

that's really the only way I can explain it

a couple of weeks ago I rearranged my desk and I needed to use an extension cord for the monitor - would that cause everything to become shadowed -and most images kinda look blurry

considering that I have my screensaver set to 20 mins and if I think I'm going to be idle or away from my computer I turn the monitor off I wouldn't have gotten any kind of screen burn would I?

it's a 17" flat panel that came with my gateway

any thoughts?

So it sorta looks like a ghost image?

That would come from having too long of a cable. So I take it that your LCD takes an analog video cable and not a DVI one?

How long of an extension cable did you use?

As for a solution, I'm not really sure, I've seen the problem before but never had to fix it.

I'll just move my monitor and take the cable off - I think it's 6 foot - when I hit the osd it said input analog - just makes for a pain in the butt adding images to stuff and not being sure what it looks like - and I have no idea what kind of cable I bought - hadn't thought about it when I bought it

I removed the extension cable and it seems to be much better now...
