JamieR 05-11-2006, 08:50 AM Microsoft didn't include features like that in Windows XP home because standard level home users don't generally require it. I don't know if there are any third party pieces of software around that could do it but seeing as its connected with the core user managment system and user policies in XP I don't think you can get such software. oracleguy 05-11-2006, 06:11 PM On the Pro version you want to use the group policy snap-in under the MMC to lock down the machine. However due to some stupid reason even the user specific settings, apply to all users of the computer unless you also get a Windows Server and use a domain/active directory. There are some hacks to get around this problem, at least partially though if need be. |
