White Space Around Images When Full-Sized Images Loaded into Frame

I am putting together a site, and the photo gallery page consists of frames. I have one frame on the left (nav bar with linked thumbnail images), a frame on the top (title frame) and a main frame to load the content (full sized images).

All of my links are working well and loading into the target frame. However, when the full sized image loads, it has white space all around it. It is a problem, because the background of the page is black. I've tried adjusting the margins, which solves the problem on the top, left and bottom...but a large amount of white space still remains on the right. Also, I would like to have each image centered when loaded into the target frame.

I have tried everything. Any advice would be great. Also, if you need to see my code please let me know.

Does it appear differently in firefox from IE? IE has a lot of problems with these kind of issues with CSS, playing around with margins and float and a few others can usually render a cross browser compatible solution.

It looks basically the same in FF, except my top frame doesn't display correctly in FF. I posted an example of how it looks in IE.

It sounds like the problem is because the default user background is white. Your best bet is to either put each image on its own page with a black background or to call each image with JavaScript or something similarly dynamic.

If it's an iframe, it might be possible to just set the frame opacity to zero so the background shows through but I don't know if it's possible to keep child elements from inheriting opacity.
