You could try Skype and I think that googlemail has a VOIP service (google talk) but I'm not sure.

Skype is one of the free Voip solutions. It is arguably the first major VoIP software, which allowed people to talk over the Internet for free.

sype is not true VoIP, because it has to be connected to the Skype server and will not allow you to dial an IP. Although it technically VoIP its slightly different and wont allow you to use it over a local network with no internet connection.

You can try X-Ten, they do an X-ten lite free version, download here - xten-lite (http://www.xten.net/index.php?menu=download)

Or this one, phonesnd (http://phonesnd.com/p2pv11.zip) - ive not used this one, but ive heard it isent great..

Hope ive been of assistance.

after downloading x-lite you need to use sip servers, now where to get sip servers to make free calls visit www.internetcalls.com www.voipbuster.com www.sipdiscount.com but you have to signup on there websites by paying $10 in order to make free calls ($10 account stays in your account for 4 months) after then you have to recharge your account again.

You must have fast ADSL line otherwise voice quality will be weak.

Skype is about the best out there..... and I have tried alot... alot of the others like MSN, yahoo or whatever have far too many latency issues
