View Full Version : Downloadable Newsletters?

Hi, I have a youth group website (www.freewebs.com/sacredyouthgroup), and I am trying to create a downloadable newsletter like the one on on here (http://www.freewebs.com/hessroadyouth/youthnewsletter.htm). I have searched and searched for help for this, and haven't had any luck, so I thought may maybe some of ya'll could help me. I post a link to the download that looks like <a href="http://www.freewebs.com/sacredyouthgroup/news.rtf">Click Here</a>, and when I go to click the link to test it out, then a pop up box tells me that my security settings do not allow me to download this file. Now, if it were just the security settings, then I wouldn't be here looking like a stupid person asking for help. The thing that puzzles me is that I can download the document/newsletter from the other site that I gave a link to. Am I typing my code wrong, is the extension to the file wrong, if so, what do I make it, and if it is the security settings, what do I have to go into and fix? Please help me, I want to make this the last post on a message board that I have to type in a while about this.

Thanks in advanced, and God Bless,

your website doesent appear to exist!

Are you sure you typed the URL correctly?

remove the end bracket...

The only difference I saw between the link you posted (I couldn't find one on your site) and the one on the site you linked to is that yours links to an Rich Text Format (rtf) document, and the Hess Road one is a word document (doc).
It may be that your installation has security settings that disallow rtf documents (although I fail to see the reason why); could you place an actual link to the newsletter on your site so we can give it a try?
