View Full Version : opera not over-riding values...

heya guys -

have just found a rather bizarre problem on our website in Opera (from what I know it has just started from the latest upgrade)

our CSS file can be found at www.lsbu.ac.uk/erclib/css/styleLSBU_css.css and if you do a search for '=col' you will find the colour declarations we have - as an example one of our problems occurs in link colours - we have set a default value of #025abb and then cascade additional values off that - so we override the blue with white by defining #mainNav ul li a for example.

can anyone know why Opera is not overriding these values????

thanks for all the help,

Without a website to look at, it's impossible to tell whether the problem is coding errors or such since, while your CSS seems to be valid for the most part, barring hacks (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profile=css2&warning=2&uri=http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/erclib/css/styleLSBU_css.css), we can't see how the CSS is interacting with the code and what the problem looks like.

I think opera is implementing its own stylesheet kind of like how Firefox has a userChrome.css that will override anything in a page if used.

www.lsbu.ac.uk/sbucomm/rossNewSite/ is a good one to look at
