Mail Function not working - SMTP Problem

Im trying to send email from my computer to confirm the registration.
But i got this error message:
Failed to connect to mailserver, verify your "SMTP" setting in php.ini in c:\phpdev\www\public\blogs\register.php on line 90

I change the php.ini settings to:
[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = localhost

; For Win32 only.
sendmail_from = kramx@localhost

But i stil i cant send email. i also downloaded a mail server ArgoSoift Mai lServer.
It's still not working. Im working on windows.

Anyone help me with this.

Is the host name of your mail server really "localhost"? Is your mail server port = 25? How about the sendmail_path variable? Did you set that correctly?

Still not working is not much use.

Have you checked any firewalls or router ports
