We have a page that dynamically loads resort information.
My collegue set up the page to be resorts.php?resort=nameOfResort, I added some mod rewrites so the page can be accessed via resorts/nameofResort
but the boss is complaining because these pages havent been indexed by google, he's convinced its because its a dynamic page - wanted them to be static html pages. He's even go so far as to get us to mod rewrite the urls to be resorts/nameOfResort-holiday_offers.html
I'm just exasperated and dont know what to say to him. How can I reassure him that there is no problem with dynamic pages?

Umm... Getting indexed by google takes time I believe. Sometimes, it won't even be indexed at all.
Just wait awhile, and keep submitting your links.

I know it takes time but the other pages have been indexed so he wont accept that as an answer, personally I think its because the pages are a level deeper than the other pages that have been indexed but explaining that isnt easy.

It will just take a bit of time. Dynamic pages are certainly not the problem then places like Amazon or any other online retailer wouldn't get indexed. I'd give it a month or so tops to see if it gets indexed. It isn't like it can happen within a couple days, I think a complete Google Dance takes 30 days.

There are links to these pages throughout your site?

Have you tried to add it manually? I once did it and it was added so quickly... :)
Here's the link: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

The site has already been indexed. Just not the second level pages.

Hi Nancy,
Clarification - are the pages with the query strings indexed, or is it the case that none of the URLs (mod rewritten or not) are indexed at all?
I think its because the pages are a level deeper than the other pages that have been indexed but explaining that isnt easy.
Depends how long you've been waiting, if it's been a while then I wouldn't accept that as an answer. I think though that this would be fairly easy to explain, only problem is your boss may wind up requesting a restructure of the site to make every page a top level page  - creating even more problems.
