hi, i just bought a external hd it gives me the option to use firewire or usb. I was wondering if you guys could tell me the pros an cons for usb and firewire.

usb is more common on PCs than firewire

actually it says that usb will run at 480mps and firewire at 400mps.....

If it has an IDE hard drive inside of it, the IDE interface isn't even going to be able to go that fast so the speed difference between USB2.0 and Firewire doesn't matter much.

firewire 400 or firewire 800 ?? not that it matters ... got a USB mouse or keyboard on the same hub ? then that bandwidth is shared whereas firewire gets it all
