saving a countdown in a mysql field...

hey..
umm is there anyway to add a running count down to a mysql cell...
i know how to start countdowns in php thats ok but saving the countdown to a mysql field.... is that possible ? without stopping it?
or is there any other way to do what im looking for.. which is to let users have their own countdown runing... every user accesses the same script from summut like script.php?user=jon so u see if a countdown is just started and and the next user opens the same script it`ll stop and do his countdown?
am i making sensE? lol

hmmm, the only way to update would be to resend the info.. and i guess you could do it in a iframe or a frameset, but that would affect serverload a lot if you had 100 people!

yeh ok didnt think so....
umm there will be 5000+ people so that would be to much load... i think ive worked out another way tho..
i`ll just add a number to a cell, like say it should be 4 hours i`ll puta 4 in the and geta CRON job to run every hour and take of 1 everytime then if the script is called with their name it displays hour many hours are left in that users table.. hehe sorted:)
