sharpen up VCD image on DVD-R

I have burned a VCD image (.bin and .cue) onto a DVD-R to play in my DVD Player using Daemon Tools to mount a virtual drive.

Basically my mate gave me it as he had converted a video recording to .bin and .cue files.

As you can imagine the video recording is slightly 'hazy'. I was wondering if there are any 'filters' as i have seen talked about before that will sharpen up the video? Obviously i realise I need to burn again.

Also the image plays in my standalone dvd player, but only after i get a directory listing and then click on the video file.

Is there anyway i can get it to autoplay? i.e. burn CD image to DVD without a virtual drive?

There isn't any way to improve the image quality except by making the area that it is playing on smaller. Once the quality has been lowered, the information needed to make it better is gone.
