Hi,

One Company having a headoffice and four branches in different City. They need a CRM like Application for their 40 to 70 Staff for all branches. Their Database requiement also very huge (Every year 100 thousands records are being added).

I am little confuse on which solution is better for them. According to my knowledge I am thiniking these options.

1. Web Appllication with Tomcat Server which will be hosted from the head office and the client use the browser. ( JSP/Servlet Development with MySQL )

2. Web Application with JBoss Server Hosting (J2EE Solution keeping Tomcat/ApplicationServer/MySQL)

3. Apache Web Server with MySQL/PHP

4. ASP.Net Dot net Development with MS SQL Server

Please help me on this to choose what.. And also I have some more questions after selecting the development enivironement.

Thanks

I would go with LAMP (linux apache mysql php). You can get community support for that, but there is a steep learning curve if you've never run a linux server before. Plus everything listed is free. :)

If you want to pay I would suggest CFMX7 on W2K3 with MySQL or Oracle on the backend, but that's gonna run you close to 60K.

It really depends on what your developers use. Each is as good as the other, apart from having to pay for windows licenses for the latter.

I would personally go for LAMP as SteelValor suggested, but that's only because I code in PHP.

Java based solutions can get quite bloated and complicated. It's nice to keep things simple as if problems arise they're easier to find.

Hundreds of thousands of records a year isn't exactly a huge database requirement. I've seen projects with data like that generated in a day.
