I have seen on some sites fancy text which are not graphics, but actully text! How can that be done? Javascript? CSS? DHTML? I'm thinking of different things, like glows, and shadows, and things like that. Can it be done?

are you using internet explorer? Cus maybe it's one of those stupid word-art things that you can make in frontpage.

Dead simple. It's done with software called 'WEFT' from microscoft. Try searching on google or microsoft.com and you should find it no problem.

Personally i don't use it. Simple text and images is SOOOOO MUCH better looking.

Or it could be CSS, filters, DHTML

Try these links

http://www.blooberry.com/indexdot/css/properties/dynamic/filter.htm
http://www.microsoft.com/ie/ie40/demos/filters.htm
http://compnetworking.about.com/library/weekly/aa070899b.htm

There's prolly loads more filters you can use too.
