My question pertains to functions such as the calendar within the cell phone.

you can edit it manually on the phone, but does any method exist to edit it remotely and then upload the changes to the phone like a ringtone?

i don't think you can control/edit them remotely, but there are possebilitys to create sort of "short-hand" codes that the user needs to enter to make the changes. Like if you would enter 1*#56 and that this would then select a ringtone or so.

most cell phone operators can send you such short-hand codes if you phone their support services, but i have no idea
- if these codes are universal (all phones?)
- what exactly can be changed/entered by them
- if you can send these short-hand codes and have them executed without the user doing some sort of action

at this point in technology i assume that for security purposes they have not allowed remote execution of code.

If they ever impliment that ability I have a very cool idea.
