Well here goes..... maybe I will regret this.....

1st site... need some feedback.... be nice pleez... Big can if worms

Truthfully, I need a bit of feedback as to look etc....:o

I am very very new to this. The site is only for a local community and has not been launched as there is a lot more to be added, but I don't want to do to much more until someone can pull it apart!!

Not bad overall. Nice layout. The centered text though in my opinion should go. Left aligned looks much better.

For the image in the center I believe there is a command to disable that annoying little menu that pops up automatically in IE when your mouse hovers over an image. The menu just looks awkward a detracts from the photo.

do you know where I can get that code? I have to agree it is the most annoying think on IE

I remember someone asking about it before here in the forum so try doing a search for it. I don't recall what it was offhand.

Execellent site, looks pretty professional to me.
I'd like to see it fit the window, though; can't you make the layout fluid? I don't care for the rounded corner on the right top of the central content area, either; i'd suggest having the light background continue behind the advert section all the way to the right, to keep in check with the whole "centered feel" of the layout.

I agree on the centered text in the central content area, left-aligned is calmer to the eye (although i have to admit it looks good, it just doesn't read that pleasant).

Furthermore, i'm not happy with the pop-ups for "About this site" and "Disclaimer" (there may be more); i'm not happy with pop-ups, period, and these are too small to fit the text they display. I rather see regular pages open in the main window, or if you have to have pop-ups, at least make them big enough.

Lastly, if i want or have to use 800x600 res, don't suggest to change it; same goes for the browser, since your layout is based on a jumble of tables instead of advanced CSS2 positioning, i can't see a reason why this wouldn't work in another browser than ie5. Rather try to accommodate different resolutions and browsers.
Oh, and the picture on the "get IE" link doesn't show.

And now i'll shut up... :o
